UAE-Iran Friendly Football Match Cancelled

A friendly football match between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) national team against Iran, scheduled for April 17, 2012 has been cancelled. The match was scheduled to be held at the Fujairah Club Stadium, Fujairah, UAE.

The match was cancelled in solidarity with the official position of the UAE on denouncing a visit by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to the UAE island of Abu Mousa, which has been occupied by Iran since 1971.
