London Hosts ‘Sacred: Keeping the Faith’ Art Fest From Nov. 24-28

London gears up for the “Sacred: Keeping the Faith” art festival, which runs from Nov. 24-28, 2011 at the Chelsea Theatre.

The festival will feature mostly Britain-based artists, but performers from Rio de Janiero can give them a run for their money this time around, including the singer Thelma Bonavita performing “Eu Sou Uma Fruta Gogoia” (“I Am a Gogoia Fruit”), a performance piece inspired by the song made famous by Gal Costa. In further tribute to Brazil, the group Dorothy’s Shoes presents an interactive installation titled “Flying Down to Rio” — a send-up of cultural tourism.

On stage, Francesca Millican-Slater will perform her show “Me, Myself and Miss Gibbs,” described in the festival’s brochure as “part detective noir, part lecture, part personal biography.”
