Tata's Rs. 1-lakh car 'Nano' unveiled at Auto Expo in New Delhi today. Tata group chairman Ratan Tata personally drove the launch of the new car. Nano will have a 3-cylinder 800-cc petrol engine with a mileage of 20 km/hr, a 30-litre fuel tank and 4-speed manual gearshift.

Maruti Suzuki India will not cut the price of its hugely popular 800 cc model or launch a smaller car to take on Tata Motor's Rs 1 lakh people's car, says MD. Recently company’s chairman also informed that it will be difficult to make and sell cars at the Rs 1 lakh price point.
