Canton Attorney Appointed US District Judge in Williamsport

Matthew Brann of Canton, Pennsylvania has been appointed as a United States District Judge for Williamsport.

Brann will be based at the Herman T. Schneebeli Federal Building in Williamsport, which has been without an active judge for two years.

President Barack Obama nominated Brann on May 18, 2012 upon the bipartisan recommendation of Sens. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Bob Casey, D-Pa. The Senate voted unanimously to confirm him on Friday night.

Brann graduated from the Pennsylvania State University’s Dickinson School of Law in 1990. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1987.
