Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban to be American Idol Judges

Trinidadian-born American rapper-singer Nicki Minaj and Australian country singer Keith Urban have been confirmed as American Idol judges for this upcoming season. The duo replace Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith frontman Steve Tyler, who stepped down from the Idol’s judges panel earlier this year.

Both will join pop-diva Mariah Carey and long-serving Randy Jackson on the panel. Nicki Minaj will be getting $12 million for a one-year deal, according to sources.

American Idol returns for its 12th series in January, 2013.
