Arsenal Demolish Southampton 6-1; Man Utd Beat Wigan 4-0

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal notched up their second league win of the season with a commanding 6-1 win over newly promoted Southampton at the Emirates Stadium on Sept 15, 2012.

Ivorian striker Gervinho scored a brace while Lukas Podolski, Theo Walcott also found the net in a match dominated by the Gunners’ from the word go. Arsenal are now third in the points table with eight points from four games.

In another match played today, Manchester United defeated Wigan Athletic 4-0 at Old Trafford. Paul Scholes, Chicharito, Alexander Büttner and Nick Powell scored for the Red Devils. This was 37-year-old Paul Scholes’s 700th game in Man Utd color.
