La Liga: Barcelona Signs Alex Song From Arsenal For £15 million

Barcelona FC has signed 24-year-old Cameroon international Alex Song from English club Arsenal FC for £15 million in a five-year deal. The former Arsenal midfielder underwent a medical on August 20, 2012 at Nou Camp.

"Everyone at Arsenal would like to thank Alex for his contribution to the club and wish him the best of luck for the future,” a statement on the official Arsenal website said.

Song made 206 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 10 goals since joining the English club in 2005 from French side Bastia. The midfielder becomes the second high-profile departure from the Emirates Stadium this season after Robin van Persie's switch to Manchester United.
