India to Play Five ODIs, One T20 in Sri Lanka From July 22

India will play five one-day internationals (ODIs) and one T20 game in Sri Lanka.

The Indian team arrives in Sri Lanka on July 19, 2012. It will play the first two ODIs at the newly-built Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium at Hambantota on July 22 and 24.

The next two ODIs will be played at the Colombo R. Premadasa Stadium on July 28 and 31. The last ODI and the only T20 will be played at the Pallekele Stadium near Kandy on August 5 and August 7 respectively.

Both the Hambantota and Pallekele stadiums were constructed for the ICC ODI World Cup held last year. India has not played at both venues so far. The Premadasa pitch is newly laid; and India has not played after the re-laying of the pitch. The tour will provide valuable practice to the Indian team ahead of the T20 World Cup in Sri Lanka.
