Three-day Beach Festival to Begin in Port Blair From April 20-22

The Directorate of Tourism of Andaman and Nicobar Islands in association with Port Blair Municipal Council, Andaman & Nicobar Integrated Development Cooperation & Directorate of Sports, Arts & Culture and private tourism service providers will be organizing a three-day beach festival at Corbyn's Cove in Port Blair from April 20-22, 2012.

Andaman & Nicobar Integrated Development Cooperation General Manager Mohd Parvaz said the festival is organized with a view to popularizing beach activities and beach sports amongst tourists and public and intends to provide fun and entertainments for beach lovers. The timing of the festival will be from 3 pm to 8 pm.

The sport events would include beach Volley Ball, Kabbadi, Tug of War. There will also be competitions in coconut tree climbing and musical chairs. Port Blair Municipal Council will set up food kiosks near the beach mainly to serve sea foods and other delicacies to entice food lovers. Water Sports operators will be providing water sports equipment at discounted rates during the festival.
