India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki will launch its multi-purpose vehicle Ertiga on April 12, 2012 in New Delhi.
The car is expected to be priced below Rs 10 lakh.
The petrol variant of the Ertiga is powered by an all new 1.4 liter K-series engine, K-14 which delivers a mileage of 16.02 kmpl and its diesel variant is powered by 1.3 liter DDiS engine with a mileage of 20.77 kmpl.
With around 4.2 meters in length, the Ertiga falls short of its rivals Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo, which measure around 4.5 meters.
The new seven-seater compact MPV was unveiled at the 11th Auto Expo in January 2012. Ertiga's top end variant will have — keyless entry, ABS system, steering mounted audio controls and two-tone beige interiors.
The car is built on Swift platform and will be launched in six variants — three diesel and three petrol. The car will come in seven colors.
The company will manufacture the new car at its plant in Gurgaon.
With Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki will step into the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment and effectively create a new compact MPV segment in India.

Maruti Ertiga was recently unveiled by Maruti Suzuki India at the 11th Auto Expo and now this largest carmaker of the country is all geared up for the launch on 12th April 2012 in New Delhi.Maruti Ertiga price is in bracket of Rs. 7- Rs 9 lakh and is said to be competing neck-to-neck with the segment best selling cars Toyota Innova and Mahindra Xylo.
