Jamia to Offer PG Diploma in Acting From July

Starting next academic session, aspiring actors can go for a one year postgraduate diploma course in acting at Jamia Millia Islamia University (JMU) in New Delhi. Mass Communication Research Centre of JMU will soon be offering the course from July 2012 with an intake of 20 students.

The eligibility for the course is graduation in any discipline (10+2+3) with not less than 50% marks in aggregate. Admission to the program will be through an entrance test followed by an interview.

Though acting has nothing to do with academics and percentage probably a test will be used to eliminate or take the best applicants who have the right aptitude to become an actor.

The course is expected to open a lot of venues for aspiring actors, be it is on TV Serials or on the big screen or simply on commercial advertisements.
