Abu Dhabi Book Fair 2012 From March 28–April 2; 900 Exhibitors to Participate

The 22nd edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair is scheduled to take place from March 28 to April 2, 2012 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), United Arab Emirates, under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

The fair will attract 904 publishing houses from 54 countries, up by 10 per cent more participants than last year. It will showcase over half a million titles in 33 languages. The area of the fair is spread across 21,741 square meters. It will be packed with cultural and professional activities.

This year's 'Country of Focus' is the United Kingdom, which will promote the finest in British literature, culture and publishing.

As a part of the Cultural Program, the best of Arab and international authors will come together to hold a diverse and rich mix of panels, talks, debates and book signing sessions.

The Professional Program will involve a series of panels, matchmakings, talks, roundtables and presentations targeted at assessing the state of today's book publishing industry and offering insights into international benchmarks and best practices.

The fair will open daily from 9 am to 10 pm, except for Friday when it will be open from 4 pm to 10 pm.
