Chandigarh Rose Festival 2012 Begins

The 40th edition of Chandigarh Rose Festival kicks off at the famous Rose Garden in Chandigarh on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. More than 300,000 visitors are expected to attend the festival, which is one of the most famous and largest Rose Shows in India.

This annual Chandigarh Rose Festival will also see concerts, musical nights, comedy shows, antakshri, food streets and various competitions. In addition to the annual flower contest, there will be a 'rose prince' and

'princess' competition, brass and pipe band contest, on the spot painting, rose quiz, folk dances, photography competition and kite flying.

Famous singers like Mohit Chauhan, Hans Raj Hans and Priyani Vani are expected to perform live during the festival. Comedian Uday Dahiya will also add charm to the festival.

The three-day Chandigarh Rose festival, which will be on till Sunday, Feb. 26, is being held amid tight security arrangements by the Chandigarh police.
