Indian poet and author Yatindra Mishra, known for his books on Ustad Bismillah Khan 'Sur Ki Baradari' and a compilation of Gulzar’s poems 'Yaar Julahe,' is now working on the musical journey of the nightingale of India — Lata Mangeshkar.
Mishra revealed this at the 'Baajaa Gaajaa: Music Conclave 2012' held in Pune from February 11–12, 2012.
The book, chronicling the seven-decades of her musical voyage in the form of conversations, by author Mishra is slated to be released in the next two years.
The book to be published in English and Hindi is a “conversational biography” about the life and times of the living legend. It mirrors the legend’s musical voyage from the making of her first movie ‘Mahal’ in 1949 with the song ‘Aayega Aanewala’ to the era in which she sang, the people she has worked with etc.
