Dominica to Host First Ever Unity Music Festival From Dec. 29–Jan. 1

The first ever Unity Music Festival will kick start in Dominica on Thursday, December 29, 2011 and the festival will come to a close on Sunday, January 1, 2012.

Unity Music Festival is a new and unique event in Dominica simply because it represents a lot more than just a staged event. Unity Music Festival represents a ‘cross border musical and cultural exchange.’

Unity Music Festival main events program:

Event 1: Friday December 30, 2011 from 9 pm at Krazy Kokonuts: cross border musical concert featuring ‘Perle Lama’ from Martinique; local reggae artistes and ‘Natral Vybz International,’ and old year’s jam down with ‘Sugar Fire’ and ‘WCK Band.’

Event 2: Sunday January 1, 2012 from 4 pm jazz on the Dame Eugenia Boulevard (Bayfront): a free showcase of Caribbean jazz fusion featuring ‘Be Wokaz Band’ from Martinique; Claudia Edwards from St. Lucia; Ashanti, Gelina, Nelly Stharre, Marie Claire, Arthie & Friends, ‘Breve,’ ‘Shades of Green’ and Sweet Reggae Sounds of Natral Vybz International and more.
