Organ Donation Program in Bangalore Begins From Nov. 27-29

Marking the International Organ Donation Day on November 27, Gift Your Organ Foundation has organized a three-day awareness program called, ‘Walk the Green Carpet’ at Mantri Square in Bangalore.

The color green was chosen because it symbolizes self-respect and well-being. It also denotes learning, growth and harmony. The objective is to have five million registered pledges by January 2013. They plan to spread awareness via social media and other online campaigns.

The organization will work closely with the state and central government and work towards amending legislations and procedures for the benefits of transplantation. Once people gain awareness, the death rates due to kidney failure, liver problems, and eye defects will come down drastically.
