Thiruvananthapuram’s Regional Cancer Centre (RCC) to organize a one-day workshop on ‘Breast Cancer Awareness Day’ for doctors from Kerala Government Health Service on October 22. October is celebrated as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The one-day workshop will train doctors from health services for training their health care professionals for this early detection drive. Expert faculty from RCC will take classes for doctors. October 22 is celebrated worldwide as “Pink Ribbon day.”
Breast Cancer is the leading cancer in women and the incidence of new cases per year is around 33 cases/100,000 women in Thiruvananthapuram and 27/ 100,000 in Kollam districts.
The one-day workshop is being arranged for doctors from Trivandrum and Kollam Districts. The venue is RCC conference hall and timing is from 9 am - 1 pm.
