EPL: Man City Beat Newcastle 3-1; Man Utd Beat Sunderland 3-1

Roberto Mancini’s men bounce back to wining way after their heart-breaking 3-2 defeat to eternal rivals Manchester United last week by defeating struggling side Newcastle 3-1 with goals from Sergio Aguero, Javi Garcia and Yaya Toure in their EPL encounter played at St. James Park on December 15. Demba Ba scored a consolation for the toons.

Meanwhile, Manchester United beat Sunderland 3-1 at Old Trafford to maintain their six-point lead over Manchester City. Robin van Persie, Tom Cleverley and Wayne Rooney all found the net for the Red Devils. This was Robin van Persie’s twelve premier league goal of the season since his move from Arsenal.

Manchester United remain on top the EPL points table with 42 points followed by Manchester City with 36 points after 17 games.
