La Liga: Barcelona's Thiago Ruled Out for 8 Weeks

Barcelona FC midfielder Thiago Alcantara (21) has been ruled out of action for eight weeks with a ruptured medial knee ligament. The Spanish international got a knock during the Catalans 3-2 victory over Sevilla on September 29, 2012. Thiago will miss 11 matches including the El Clasico against Real Madrid on October 7.

Meanwhile Andres Iniesta, Carles Puyol and Adriano have all been declared fit for the ‘El Clasico’.
