EPL: Chelsea Unbeaten Streak Ends; Beaten 3-2 by Man Utd at Bridge

The ‘Clash of the Premier League Titans’ lived up-to its expectation, nine-men Chelsea FC went down 3-2 to arch-rivals Manchester United in a match that was marred with goals, red cards, controversial decisions and racist slurs at Stamford Bridge on October 28 cutting Roberto Di Matteo's men lead in the EPL to just one single point.

Manchester United were up 2-0 by the 12 minute thanks to David Luiz own goal and a typical Robin van Persie goal, the Blues’ responded back in style with Juan Mata's stunning free-kick in the 44 minute and a Ramires' header in the 53 minute to make it 2-2. Then came the two-red cards for Chelsea, first defender Ivanovic was sent off for denying Ashley Young a clear goal-scoring chance while striker Fernando Torres was shown a harsh red card for diving despite replays showing that there was contact from Man Utd’s Jonny Evans. Super-sub Chicharito (another Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the making) made sure the Reds take all three points with a goal in the 75 minute. This was Sir Alex's team first win at Stamford Bridge in a decade.

Chelsea made a complaint after the match claiming referee Clattenburg made a racist slur against midfielder John Obi Mikel during the match. Chelsea FC still tops the EPL table with 22 points while both the Manchester clubs (United and City) are on 21 points each after 9 matches.
