CL: Dortmund Stun Real Madrid 2-1 at Signal-Iduna-Park

Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund defeated Spanish champions Real Madrid 2-1 in an evenly contested Champions League Group D match played at Signal-Iduna-Park on October 25, 2012.

Robert Lewandowski scored the opener for the German side in the 36 minute much to the delight of over 65,000 home fans‎, Los Blancos restored parity through Cristiano Ronaldo within two minutes of Lewandowski’s goal from a Ozil’s long ball but left-back Marcel Schmelzer made sure that the Germans take all-three points in the 64 minute with a well-placed volley. This is Borussia Dortmund first ever win over the Spanish giants.

With this win, Borussia Dortmund tops Group of Death (Group D) with seven points from three games. Madrid are second with six points.
