Barcelona’s Carles Puyol Ruled Out of ‘El Clasico’

Tito Vilanova now have a real problem ahead of this upcoming ‘El Clasico’ on October 7, 2012 after inspirational captain Carles Puyol was ruled out with a dislocated left elbow.

The 34-year-old Spanish centre back fell awkwardly during the Champions League match against Benfica and was carried off on a stretcher. Defender Gerard Pique and midfielder Thiago Alcantara have also been ruled out.

This will be the third ‘El Clasico’ in charge as a manager for Tito Vilanova and after handing over the Spanish Super Cup to Los Blancos’ earlier this year the pressure to win this match is clearly visible.
