Champions League: Messi Brace Help Barcelona Beat Spartak Moscow 3-2

Lionel Messi late brace in the 72nd and 80th minute saw Barcelona beat a spirited Spartak Moscow side 3-2 in their Group G opening counter at Camp Nou on September 20, 2012.

Argentine maestro Lionel Messi was once again the difference for the Catalans after the Russian side lead Barcelona 2-1 till the 72nd minute at their own home ground, Camp Nou. Tello put Barca ahead in the 14th minute but an own goal from Dani Alves and a second-half strike from Romulo saw Nou Camp fans shellshocked that is until Messi decided to turn things around.

Tito Vilanova's men now top Group G, with the other match seeing Celtic and Benfica play out a 0-0 draw.
