Spain’s Iniesta Named Player of Euro 2012

Spain's Andres Iniesta has been named the best player at Euro 2012 by UEFA, hours after his man-of-the-match performance in the final. The 28-year-old Barcelona midfielder, who was man of the match in Spain's historic 4-0 thumping win over Italy in Sunday's final, was selected by a technical committee made up of 11 people.

UEFA technical director Andy Roxburgh said: "Picking Iniesta as the Best Player of Euro 2012 sends a message about creativity, incisive football and humility."
