Petrol in Delhi will be cheaper by Rs 1.50 from the current Rs 73.18 after Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit announced a 20 percent reduction in the value added tax (VAT) on the fuel.
The petrol price was increased by Rs 7.54 last week, evoking a sharp outcry from the public.
Public transport could become costly after the 5% VAT hike on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This would amount to an increase of Rs 1.75 per kg of CNG.
