Air China Starts Direct Mumbai Flights

Air China launched direct flights from the country's southwestern city of Chengdu to Indian financial hub of Mumbai on Wednesday, May 2, 2012.

The airline will use Airbus A319 aircraft for the flights every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, the company said. One side of the trip will take about five hours.

This is the airline's second direct air route between Chengdu and India. The carrier earlier opened a Chengdu-Bangalore flight in February 2010.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province. It is a major economic hub in western China.

  1. I always love to begin a journey on Sundays, because I shall have the prayers of the church, to preserve all that travel by land, or by water.
