Nokia is geared up to launch the Lumia 900 smartphone with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango at the New York Times Square on April 6, 2012. The smartphone will be made available in the USA through the AT&T mobile network.
The Lumia 900 smartphone will feature 4.3-inch AMOLED touchscreen display with 480x800 pixel resolution. This display has been built using Corning Gorilla Glass technology which is known for its toughness and will have Nokia ClearBlack Display technology. The Lumia 900 features a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm APQ8055 Snapdragon family of processor tagged with Adreno 205 graphics chip. This smartphone will have 512 MB RAM and will feature 16 GB on-board storage instead of offering card slot.
At the rear lies the 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash. This camera is capable of recording 720p HD videos at 30 frames per second. This Lumia device sports a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling as well.
Other features of the Lumia 900 include WiFi, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Gyroscopic sensor, Proximity sensor, e-Compass, and Stereo FM with RDS. Indeed there is a GPS with A-GPS support for better location fixing.
Price of the Nokia Lumia 900 has not been officially announced. However, the unlocked version or the contract-free version is expected to retail for $700 (Rs 35,000 approximately).
