Morrissey to Play at Istanbul Jazz Festival on July 19

Legendary English singer Morrissey is all set to perform in İstanbul in July. He will play the last concert of this year’s İstanbul International Jazz Festival.

The 52-year-old former vocalist of The Smiths will close the İstanbul Jazz Festival on July 19, 2012 at the Cemil Topuzlu open-air theater in the Harbiye quarter, the principal venue of the annual summer fest, the İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Art (İKSV) said.

Morrissey’s İstanbul gig will come on the heels of this month’s rerelease in the UK of “Viva Hate,” his chart-topping 1988 debut solo album, the İKSV said.

The İstanbul Jazz Festival will mark its 19th edition from July 3–19.

The full festival program will be announced on April 26 and tickets will go on sale on April 28 through Biletix and İKSV.
