Indo-Korea Trade to Reach $40 Billion by 2015

Consequent to operationalization of CEPA in January 2010, the volume of Indo-South Korean Trade has reached as high as $20.5 billion in 2011, registering a stupendous 65% growth on year-on-year basis.

Sources informed that with both the countries becoming a strong trading partner, the volume of bilateral trade was poised to reach $40 billion by 2015, recording nearly a 100% jump in the next four years.

Over 300 South Korean companies were already in operation in India making investment to the tune of $2.3 billion so far, sources said.

South Korea was a Partner Country, for the first time, at the 1999 edition of IETF when it brought the largest ever participation of Korean products and technologies including major Korean brands on display.
