Academy Award winning Indian composer AR Rahman was featured in the primetime series Oprah Winfrey’s next chapter, on a two-part special episode titled Oprah Travels to India.
The show highlights Rahman‘s foundation KM Music Conservatory and features a performance with The KM Music Conservatory children’s choir. Capturing her first trip to the country, Oprah Travels to India was premiered on April 22, 2012 at 8/9c on OWN with part 2 of the episode, Women of India, to air on April 29.
Rahman met Oprah in 2009 when he captured the international spotlight for his work on Slumdog Millionaire after winning two Academy Awards for ‘Best Original Score’ and ‘Best Original Song’ for ‘Jai Ho.’
Oprah Travels to India is part of the new primetime series, Oprah’s next chapter, in which Winfrey steps outside of the studio for enlightening conversations with newsmakers, celebrities, thought leaders and real-life families.
