Bangalore-based Wipro Technologies, the global information technology, consulting and outsourcing business of Wipro Limited, on the occasion of International Women's Day has joined forces with Catalyst, a leading non-profit membership organization that expands opportunities for women and business, as a founding member in India.
Sunita Cherian, vice president-human resources and head of gender diversity, Wipro said, ''Women constitute 30% of the total talent at Wipro, today. Our focus is to support them to grow into leadership roles. Our Catalyst membership reaffirms our commitment towards creating an inclusive environment within the organization.''
''As a part of Wipro’s ‘International Women’s Day’ celebrations, we have also launched three new employee initiatives on the theme of ‘Empowering Girls.’ We hope that the program, which will be run internally for employees, will help participants relate better with the challenges faced by women in society and raise awareness levels within the organization,'' she added.
Wipro has extensive programs that promote the growth of women in the organization such as ‘Women in Leadership,’ ‘Mentoring for Success’ and the ‘Women of Wipro’ (WoW) speaker series.
