UAE Football Team Makes History; Qualifies for London Olympics for First Time

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) football team made history when it qualified for the Olympic Games for the first time on March 14, 2012.

The UAE defeated Uzbekistan 3–2 in Uzbek capital Tashkent.

UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan congratulated the team, its coach and technical staff for qualifying for the London Olympics.
