Sachin's Painting Sold for $750,000 at Art Dubai

Dubai-based British artist Sacha Jafri’s painting on Indian legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has fetched $750,000 at Art Dubai, Madinat Jumeirah, United Arab Emirates on March 20, 2012, only days after the master player scored his hundredth ton.

The money will be donated to MS Dhoni Foundation, which provides food, water and shelter to poor children.

Apart from Sachin, the painting has the handprints of 40 top international players such as Dhoni, Brian Lara, Ricky Ponting, Rahul Dravid, Wasim Akram, Shahid Afridi, Andrew Strauss, Ricky Ponting, and Courtney Walsh.

The frame of the painting is made from the willow of bats signed by all 12 top run-scorers with six balls signed by top six wicket-takers of all time.
