Para Athletics National C'ship Kicks off in Bangalore

The Para Athletics National Championship 2012 is scheduled to be held at Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore from March 26-28, 2012.

About 800 athletes from 24 states will be seen in action during the championship, organised by Karnataka Sports Association for Physically Handicapped under the aegis of Paralympic Committee of India & Para Athletic Federation of India.

There will be about 156 events in five categories for Ambulants, Wheelchair, Cerebral Palsy, Visually impaired and Dwarf category.

Athletes like Jagseer Singh from Rajasthan, who is Arjuna awardee and gold medallist in Guangzhou (China) Para Asian Games, Mahabeer Singh from Punjab, Sandeep Singh Mann from Rajasthan, Sharad Kumar of Bihar, H N Girisha of Karnataka, Thirumalai Kumar of AP, Ranjith Kumar of TN and other core probable of London 2012 Paralympics will take part in this championship.
