Akhilesh Yadav will be the next chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, sources in the Samajwadi Party (SP) said. His name was suggested by SP leader Azam Khan and approved by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav at legislative party meeting in Lucknow.
38 year old Akhilesh will be UP’s youngest chief minister. As per the sources, Mulayam’s deteriorating health is one of the reasons for making Akhilesh CM, who will be sworn in on March 12.
The Samajwadi party made a stunning comeback in the Uttar Pradesh sweeping 224 assembly seats.
