Apple to Build $304 Million Campus in Austin

Apple Inc is geared up to invest $304 million in a new campus in the Texas capital, Austin. Apple’s new campus in Austin will add 3,600 jobs over the next decade, more than doubling its workforce in the city. The company plans to add jobs in customer support, sales and accounting.

The company is receiving an investment of $21 million over 10 years from a state fund and also possible incentives from Austin and Travis County, according to Texas Governor Rick Perry.

Already the world's most valuable company, Apple's market capitalization topped $500 billion this month and remains above that mark - rarefied air that only a few firms, including rival Microsoft and Exxon Mobil Corp, have ever exceeded.
