Indian state of Jharkhand will develop an airport at Deoghar district to promote religious tourism in the state.
The airport will be developed for landing of ATR 72 aircraft. The first phase will be completed in two years. The cost of the total project is Rs 350 crore.
Deoghar is an important religious place of Jharkhand. The Shiva temple of Bababaidhyanath of Deoghar witnesses around five million religious tourists every year. It is also close to the Parasnath hill of Giridih district, which is a place of 23 Jain tirthankars.
