The 20th edition of New Delhi World Book Fair 2012 is scheduled to be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from February 25 to March 4, 2012. The fair has been organized by National Book Trust (NBT) India, an autonomous organization founded in 1957 by the first Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru.

The theme of this year’s book fair is Indian Cinema. The biennial book fair has been earning the reputation for offering international rights initiatives on a particular
theme – in 2008, it was Mahatma Gandhi; in 2010, it was the sports and the year 2012 will see an international rights exhibition on books on Indian cinema.

Books based on Indian films like The Cinema of Satyajit Ray, biography of Dada Sahab Phalke, Balraj Sahani, etc will be the highlights of the fair.

The fair will have distinct categories of exhibits including children, science and technology, health, business, Hindi, English, Urdu and other languages, to name a few. Also, there would be regular features like book launches, seminars, meet the author events, and special pavilions dedicated to children and youth etc.

NBT has joined hands with the Publishers' and Booksellers' fraternity such as Delhi State Booksellers' and Publishers' Association and Sagi Publication initiative to launch Pink Ribbon Book Tag to contribute Rs 1 for every book sold at the Book Fair with the support of Indian Cancer Society for a humanitarian cause.

The 2010 edition of the New Delhi World Book Fair was spread over an area of 42,000 sq m and attracted more than 1,200 exhibitors from India and abroad.
