Delhi Hosts 2nd Annual Comic Convention

The second edition of the Annual Indian Comic Convention kicks off at Dilli Haat, New Delhi on February 17, 2012.

The three-day event is the biggest celebration of comics in India. It will feature a bunch of exciting things, with over 80 participants, 22 exclusive launches, over 30 sessions and featuring comic book legends from around the world.

Conceptualized by Jatin Verma, the event will provide a platform for cartoonists and other writers to share their work with comic enthusiasts. The convention is also going to introduce 'Delhi's own" special mascot called 'Superkudi' — a super hero with a Punjabi touch created by Adhiraj Singh.

The organizers have got Marvel and Disney on board as associate sponsors, promising all the action from the comic world. Fans can catch 'The Avengers' in action exclusively at the convention at the special 'Marvel' zone with comics, merchandise and many other surprises.

Legendary cartoonist Mario de Miranda will also be featured at the convention, there is special tribute lined up for him. Miranda, passed away last year, leaving behind a rich legacy through his varied, well-acclaimed body of work.

Many independent animators and authors will conduct interactive sessions including how to make a comic.

A few competitions have also been organized to pull the crowds, a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland and more is the winning prize for those dress up creatively as their favorite comic icons.
