Mozart's Music at Delhi’s Central Park, Siri Fort From Jan. 6–8

A first of its kind concert, Mozart Magic in India, will be held in Indian capital for three days beginning Friday, Jan. 6, 2011 at the Central Park in Connaught Place and Siri Fort Auditorium on Saturday (Jan. 7) and Sunday (Jan. 8). A selection of western classical music by Mozart, one of the world's prolific composers, is set to be performed in India in operatic tradition.

The performance, "Mozart Magic in India," by a mixed group of musicians from India and France is being conducted under collaboration between Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Neemrana Music Foundation (TNMF).

Extracts from Mozart's famous operas — "The Magic Flute," "Idomeneo," "Cosi Fan Tutte" and "The Marriage of Figaro" would be rendered with operatic stage direction and costumes.

37 musicians of the Bombay Chamber Orchestra, 12 wind musicians from orchestra of Rouen Opera House, 50 singers of The Neemrana Music Foundation Choir comprise the performers.

Indian artistes include Aude Priya, Sunanda Rao, Vikrant Subramaniam, Nitya Vaz, Payal John, Ashwin Sahay, Ashwati Parameshwar, Ramya Rao, Sparsh Bajpai, Pallavi Seth and Tara Grover.
