Kolkata: Park Street Carnival at Allen Park on Dec. 25

Department of Tourism Government of West Bengal presents the SPARK Park Street Carnival at Allen Park, Kolkata on Dec. 25, 2011 from 9 am to 9 pm.

Event Schedule:

9 am – 11am: The Great Park Street Treasure Hunt, conducted by Calcuttawalks


11 am – 12noon: Festive Food Competition, A La Cake Making Ceremony, conducted by Chef Rozario


1 pm: Vintage Parade, a show of Buggies, Tom Toms and Vintage cars

12 noon – 4 pm: Amateur Band Fest, The best of the youth conducted by Littlei

4 pm – 4:30 pm: The Kolkata Police Band followed by Prize Distribution by Commissioner of Police

4:30 pm – 5 pm: Inauguration by Tourism Minister Shri Rachpal Singh, donations to the underprivileged

5 pm – 5:30 pm: Swagatam, a Bharatnatyam performance by students of Anaarto choreographed by Poulami Bose

5:30 pm: Lighting the Christmas Tree by Mr. Sovan Chatterjee, Hon. Mayor, KMC

5:30 pm – 6:30 pm: City Minstrels Choir, conducted by AG Church

6:30 pm – 9 pm: Music Concert, The Bertie Da Silva Show by Skinney Alley

The amateur band fest is a live band competition, which will be held on the open air stage at Allen’s Park. It provides an opportunity to upcoming bands to be given a very unique platform to showcase their talent. This year’s band competition will feature a cash prize for the winning band.
