Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation in association with Embassy of France in India and Cinemas Du Monde at The Alliance Francaise of Madras is organizing a French Film Festival from Nov. 14 to 16 at the Edouard Michelin Auditorium of Alliance Francaise, Chennai.
Stavisky is a French film based on the life of financier and swindler Serge Alexandre alias Stavisky and his mysterious death in 1934. It’s based on true story of the 1934 political scandal known as the Stavisky Affair, which led to the resignation of two prime ministers, a fatal riot and a change of the government itself.
Jean-Paul Belmondo plays the title role of Alexandre Stavisky, the flamboyant embezzler that started this spiral of the French government.
