Aarogya Film Fest in Pune From Dec. 3–4

The PM Shah Foundation has organized Aarogya Film Festival to create health awareness at the National Film Archive of India (NFAI), Pune on December 3 and 4, 2011.

In its second year, the film festival on health awareness is meant to educate the masses on various health related problems in an entertaining and engaging manner. The films, including films by renowned directors Vishal Bharadwaj, Sai Paranjape and others are based on the subjects of HIV/Aids, gender and sexuality, addiction, women’s health, female foeticide and disability.

The festival would be inaugurated at 2 pm on December 3 by Vikas Kharage, director of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) along with director Umesh Kulkarni and writer cum actor Girish Kulkarni.

Some of the films that will be screened are Blood Brothers i.e. a short film on Aids by Vishal Bhardwaj, Through Our Viewfinder on gender and sexuality by Jasmine K Roy and Avinash Roy, Tei film on female foeticide by Kailash Jadhav and Suee-The Needle on addiction by Sai Paranjpe.
