Trinidad & Tobago Hosts Edufest on Cancer

More than 700 secondary schools students gathered at the National Academy for the Performing Arts (NAPA), recently for a day of learning and fun at Edufest 2011.

The event, hosted annually by the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society and Republic Bank, was a part of their customary month-long set of activities for Cancer awareness Month.

Republic Bank and the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society have been working to ensure that people throughout Trinidad and Tobago are fully informed about cancer and the avenues available for prevention and care.

The bank contributes $200,000 to the Cancer Society, toward the hosting of two major events during Cancer Month (October) – Edufest and Walk for Life. The contribution comes through the Bank’s corporate social responsibility program, the Power to Make a Difference.
