The duo, who have been dating since last year, have grown increasingly close of late. They had actually planned to tie the knot much earlier, but the sudden demise of Yash Chopra put their plans on hold.
According to the grapevine, Uday's mother, Pamela Chopra has met Nargis' mother.
Nargis reportedly knew that the marriage would happen and that is the reason she didn't take up any film offers.
