EFT Report, Hampshire: Southampton FC has sacked its manager Nigel Adkins on January 18, 2013 and appointed former Spanish side Espanyol manager Mauricio Pochettino to take over from the Englishman.

Nigel Adkins (47) was appointed Southampton boss in 2010 and since then helped the Saints secured back-to-back promotions after leading the club from League One to the Premier League. Southampton currently sits 15th in EPL table, three points above the relegation zone.

Argentine Pochettino will be in-charge of Southampton EPL match against Everton FC on January 21, 2013.
