Indian government has shifted the venue of a meeting of world's industry captains at “Global Partnership Summit 2013” from Kolkata to Agra in Uttar Pradesh, just days after Trinamool Congress (TMC) pulled out of UPA. West Bengal Chief minister Mamata Banerjee dubbed the move as an "act of vengeance."
Union Commerce Minister Anand Sharma said in Delhi the decision was taken in view of the "strident opposition and hostile approach to FDI" on the part of the Trinamool Congress government in West Bengal.
In a sharp reaction, Banerjee said she had no idea when Kolkata was decided as the venue of the summit or when the event was shifted out of the city.
