Cameroon national football coach Denis Lavagne has been fired after serving for only three months. The decision came five days after the team was defeated by lowly-ranked Cape Verde in a 2013 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
He will be replaced by compatriot Jean-Paul Akono.
The Frenchman signed a permanent contract in June. He had also been the caretaker manager of the side since last November.
