Real Madrid Signs Luka Modric for £33 Million

Real Madrid has finally got their big summer signing, the Spanish club and Tottenham Hotspur FC has finally agreed on a 5-year deal worth £33 million deal for Croatian playmaker Luka Modric. Tottenham will receive £27m from Real, plus another £6m in various add-ons. Modric is set to undergo a medical with Real Madrid on August 27, 2012.

Luka Modric (26) made 160 appearances for Spurs in four seasons, scoring 17 goals, after his move from Dinamo Zagreb in 2008 for £16.5m. This move will give a big boost to the reigning La Liga champions after a disastrous start to their title defense this season. Los Blancos’ were held to 1-1 draw by Valencia and beaten 2-1 by Getafe FC in their other league match.
