Brit-Pop Star Mika Confirms he is Gay

British singer-songwriter Mika (28) has confirmed he is gay after years of speculation regarding his sexuality. The 'Grace Kelly' singer has finally publicly admitted he is homosexual and says the songs on his new third album 'The Origin of Love' are inspired by his love affairs with men.

Speaking to gay publication Instinct Magazine, Mika says "If you ask me am I gay, I say yeah. And it's only through my music that I've found the strength to come to terms with my sexuality beyond the context of just my lyrics. This is my real life."

Mika released his first full-length album ‘Life in Cartoon Motion’ in 2007, it sold more than 5.6 million copies worldwide helping him win a Brit Award—winning Best British Breakthrough act, and receive a Grammy Award nomination.

His third album ‘The Origin of Love’ will be releasing on September 16, 2012.
